The smart fortwo is getting a little sportier.

Smart has announced a new sport package for its fortwo coupe and cabrio models. The new sport models will land in smart showrooms for the 2017 model year.Available on prime and passion, proxy trim levels, the BRABUS Sport Package carries an MSRP of $1,900, representing more than a 10 percent of the city car's suggested retail price. For that chunk of change buyers will get a sports suspension that's been lowered by 10mm, stiffer anti-roll bars and a BRABUS-tuned damping system.

The sport package also includes staggered wheels — 16s up front and 17-inchers out back — painted matter gray and shod in Yokohama summer performance tires. Front and rear spoilers and a rear diffusor are also included in the package.

Inside the BRABUS Sport Package fortwo is treated to BRABUS 3-spoke multifunction sport steering wheel and BRABUS logos. Aluminum pedals with rubber studs are also fitted as standard.

Sport package buyers can pick between a manual or automatic transmission. The latter comes with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The BRABUS Sport Package will be available this fall.
