A twin headlamp configuration and cascading grille anchor a fresh design language for the brand.

Hyundai has all but revealed its forthcoming Kona crossover in a few detailed teaser images and video.

The latest photos shed more light on Hyundai's evolving design language, with a more aggressive body styling and a twin headlamp configuration. The front end features a cascading grille, anchoring the brand's "new family identity."

The crossover represents Hyundai's first head-up display to project driving information onto an eight-inch patch on the windshield. The company says the system has a class-leading luminance of 10,000 candela per square meter, ensuring visibility in sunlit conditions.

The Kona will arrive amid growing competition in the compact crossover segment. It will be up against the Chevrolet Trax, Honda HR-V, Nissan Juke and upcoming Toyota C-HR, among others.

Full details will be announced at the Kona's official unveiling event on June 12.
