VW's cheeky droptop just got a bit sportier looking.

Volkswagen's sport-inspired R-Line package will soon be available on its new Beetle Convertible.

Containing elements like a unique exterior body kit, special 19-inch alloy wheels, low profile all-season tires and R-Line badging, the package ups the Beetle Convertible's styling ante. The Beetle Convertible R-Line will use the standard Beetle Turbo's sport-tuned suspension setup. No powertrain changes have been announced, so it's safe to say that the R-Line won't be any quicker than the standard Beetle Turbo.

Inside, the R-Line includes metallic-style trim to its dashboard and door plates, plus a flat-bottomed R-Line leather-wrapped steering wheel. Leather seats are standard, as are R-Line bits like sport pedals and scuff plates.

In addition, the Beetle Convertible R-Line comes well-equipped with a navigation system, a proximity key with push-button start and a Fender audio system.

Pricing hasn't been announced, but VW did indicate that the Beetle Convertible R-Line will go on sale in 2013 as a 2014 model. The Beetle R-Line coupe is expected to go on sale soon.

VW also offers R-Line packages for its CC, Tiguan and Touareg.
