BMW has released more camouflaged teaser shots of the upcoming X2 "sports activity coupe."

The photo shoot showcases the X2 in its natural environment -- the urban jungle -- and leaves little to the imagination thanks to a comparatively modest prototype wrap in shades of yellow, grey and black.

Consistent with earlier spy shots and teasers, the latest images suggest BMW designers have not strayed far from the X2 Concept that debuted in Paris.

The X2 is said to be underpinned by the X1's front-wheel-drive UKL platform architecture, with all-wheel drive as an upgrade option. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is expected to deliver 228 horsepower for most configurations, while an M Performance edition could jump to 300 ponies.

The first production examples could begin landing in showrooms early next year.
