Honda's latest Civic Si is nearly here.
Honda has announced that its updated 2014 Civic Si Coupe will arrive in dealer showrooms tomorrow. Honda will follow up the launch of the Si Coupe with the market introduction of the Civic Si Sedan on March 26.
The 2014 Civic Si boasts a number of improvements over last year's model, including more power, a re-tuned suspension, revised styling and an upgraded interior.
The Si's 2.4L four-cylinder engine carries over for the new model year, but Honda engineers have managed to squeeze an extra 4 horsepower and 4 lb-ft of torque out of the mill thanks to a new exhaust system, netting figures of 205 and 174, respectively. A six-speed manual transmission is the Si's lone gearbox option.
To match those new power ratings, Honda has also buttoned down the Civic Si's suspension with higher rate springs, new dampers and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar.
The Civic Si's styling isn't radically different from the outgoing car, but does feature a more aggressive hood, new front fenders and updated head and taillights.
Inside the 2014 Si gets better quality materials and Honda's latest infotainment system complete with a 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen.
2014 Civic Si Coupe models will carry a base MSRP of $22,790 while the Sedan will list from $22,990. Both models top out at $24,490 when loaded with navigation.
Prices do not include a mandatory $790 destination charge.
