Cadillac will continue its model offensive by introducing the XT4 at this year's New York Auto Show. GM Authority reports the crossover will inaugurate the brand's next design language. The firm has confirmed it will show the XT4 this year but it hasn't revealed when yet.   


2019 Volkswagen Jetta R rendered

Digital renderings show what the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta could look like if it receives the R treatment. 300 horsepower from a 2.0-liter turbo four and all-wheel drive would turn the sedan into a completely different animal. There's no indication it will happen, though.   


AMG played key role in developing new G

Mercedes-AMG played a key role in developing the brand-new G-Class. "We did almost everything regarding the G-Wagen to make a proper base for our car. Suspension, adaptive dampers, the front axle, the rear axle was done by us, drivetrain, the shaft, knuckles. Everything," AMG boss Tobias Moers told Road & Track. The new model will, presumably, handle better than the outgoing SUV.   


China-based GAC advertising at DTW

China-based GAC wants to begin selling cars in America before the end of 2019. The company is already starting the long process of establishing a reputation here. Detroit show attendees who flew out of DTW likely saw an ad for the GS8.   


FCA: Jeep no longer for sale

Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles has ruled out selling the Jeep brand to a Chinese investor, Automotive News has learned. "We have no intention of breaking [the group] up and giving anything to the Chinese," Sergio Marchionne said in an interview.

Land Rover details limited-edition Defender V8

Land Rover is releasing a limited run of V8-powered Defenders. Based on the old model, the first Defender V8 since 1998 can hit 60 mph from a stop in 5.6 seconds thanks to 405 horses under the hood. Production is limited to 150 examples, and none are coming to America.
